Overview

Jiangtui (Chinese: 洚退 Jiàngtuì, "Retreating Flood") is a Hydro OC character in Genshin Impact by ByeGuys. Her art is Lier (B) from Honkai Impact 3.

Jiangtui is one proficient enough in the usage of Hydro as to change the tides of the ocean. Living humbly in Liyue, not many know of her, but when the Liyue Qixing need favors, she will help them.

Profile[]

Introduction[]

The second-most important secret well-kept by the Liyue Qixing is a person. Formerly part of the Liyue Qixing himself, he was never announced, and someone else soon stepped up in his place, for he wished to keep his vast power secret.

Personality[]

One of the mightiest people in Teyvat. Alice says that she is strong, yet humble and kind, though not as free-spirited as herself, as Jiangtui ties herself down in service to Liyue without any recognition.

Jiangtui received her Vision at a young age, after being the youngest person to ever mastered a martial arts technique known as the Edge of Taixuan. Despite the fact that everyone else who has ever mastered the technique fully having died from overexertion, Jiangtui was able to utilize it to its full potential, with its attack named Eminence that took no physical form and could not be blocked.

However, after receiving the Hydro Vision upon this achievement, Jiangtui opted for a different style of fighting in which a Hydro-infused blade would be able to disorientate and knock out an enemy without too much bodily harm. Already a master at the Edge of Taixuan, she instead took to mastering the Hydro powers that her Vision granted.

She soon proved to be potent in this way, too, and becoming able to control the tides. However, nobody knew of her constant practicing - at least, she thought no one had known. When one of the Liyue Qixing stepped down, Ningguang invited her to fit in as a replacement. Despite it taking more than strength in combat to become a Liyue Qixing, Ningguang was confident that Jiangtui could adapt.

But unlike the typical inauguration ceremony, Jiangtui chose not to publicly reveal who she was, and after a while, told the rest of the Qixing that she could not be part of the Qixing - she did not want herself to go public, as she fears it may shift her motivations from self-improvement to pleasing others. Ningguang accepted it without a word, and Jiangtui offered to help Liyue in times of need, in her own ways.

When Osial awoke, Jiangtui was there to suppress it, though it was not enough. Later, however, when the Jade Palace was destroyed, Jiangtui added her own strength to ensure the defeat of Osial, and there have been numerous reports of someone coming back alive from the crash due to the strangely calm sea, with tides that helped the survivors to the shore.
